AP Courses are designed to provide high school students with a college-level academic experience. These courses are rigorous, following a college--level curriculum, and students are assessed on their understanding of the course through an AP Exam, which are given over a two-week time period in early May.

Because AP courses are designed to mimic the curriculum of a college level course, students who qualify can earn college credit for their AP courses. Whether or not credit is earned is based on the score a student receives on their AP Exam. Although schools vary on which scores receive credit, a 3-5 is generally considered passing and worthy of credit.

AP Exams come in a two-week time period in early May. Students taking multiple AP courses should check the college board website for the AP Exam schedule. Some exams fall on the same day, and it is possible that a student be required to take two exams in one day. Studying and reviewing in advance is important to passing AP Exams.
